“I would love to tell my dad that I love him and thank you for not giving up on me” - Siri.

Every Father’s Day I am reminded of what Siri, my daughter with autism, said a few years ago when she started to communicate for the first time in her second decade of life.

“I would love to tell my dad that I love him and thank you for not giving up on me” - Siri.

This weekend we hosted a research team from University of Calgary, which is studying an Augmented Reality tool, EcoPilot, they developed for individuals with non-speaking autism. Thanks to the team that traveled all the way from Canada to be here in Burlingame. Thanks also to the participants, parents and caregivers who enthusiastically got involved.

Sirica Therapeutics and a few other projects like this one are part of the promise I made to Siri - I will never give up! Whether it is helping her through college to become a neuroscientist or finding solutions for people like her affected by autism, I am on it. It takes dedicated parents/subjects, committed researchers, entrepreneurs with grit and investors with a vision to make things happen.

Continuing on this mission, we are hosting a round table event on July 10th, “Advancing Autism Innovation” in Burlingame, CA. We want to promote innovation and foster collaboration to find evidence-based solutions that are ready to make a difference in the lives of people affected by profound autism.

Won’t you join hands with us to make things better for folks affected by autism?
